CUA notches third straight 20-win season with 3-1 win

WASHINGTON – CUA improved to 3-1 in the Landmark Conference and notched its third straight 20-win season with a 3-1 victory over Moravian on Saturday afternoon in Landmark Conference round robin action.  The Cardinals took down the Greyhounds by game scores of 25-17, 25-17, 20-25 and 26-24.

Leading the way for CUA on Saturday was Michaela Carroll, who finished with 36 assists, six digs and a pair of kills.  Bridget Kulesh had a nice afternoon as well, totaling 13 kills and two digs.

Claudia Jean registered nine kills and 15 digs, while Kelly Crimmins added eight kills and Molly Owens and Tess O'Leary totaled six kills apiece.

Katie Chefalas led the Cardinals with 17 digs, while Kristina Purcell finished with 14.

For Moravian, three Greyhounds finished in double figures in kills, including Samantha Savite (19), JeanAnne Carey (10) and Katie Moquete (10).  Jesse Krasley led the way in digs with 27 and Kelly Brown handed out 44 assists.

CUA will close out Landmark Conference regular season play on Sunday when the Cardinals take on Scranton at 11 a.m. and Susquehanna at 1:30 p.m. inside the DuFour Center.
