Crimmins earns Landmark Conference Senior Scholar-Athlete award
WASHINGTON – Senior Kelly Crimmins was named the Landmark
Conference Volleyball Senior Scholar-Athlete award winner on
Thursday. Crimmins is one of just six student-athletes from
around the conference to earn the award, which is selected from a
committee of conference officers, athletic directors and sports
A native of Falls Church, Va., Crimmins maintains a GPA over 3.8 as an art major. She has been selected to the Dean’s List every semester she has been at CUA and is a multi-year member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll. Crimmins is also a member of the CUA honors program and she was selected to the 2011 Landmark Conference All-Academic Team.
On the court, Crimmins is a two-time First Team All-Conference selection (2011, 2012) and she earned conference Player of the Week honors on September 17th of this season.
A middle hitter, Crimmins led the Landmark Conference in blocks in 2010 with 97, and she led the Cardinals in that category in each of the last three seasons, including 96 this year.
Crimmins, who led the conference in hitting percentage this season (.335), wrapped up her career with 313 blocks. She helped lead CUA to 27 wins in 2012, its most since 2002, and the Cardinals also reached their first Landmark Conference championship match.
The honorees for the award must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 and are selected based on their accomplishments in athletics and academics.
