CUA downed by Bison 3-1

WASHINGTON – CUA dropped a 3-1 decision to a strong Gallaudet team on Tuesday evening.  The Cardinals took the first set by a score of 25-20, before the Bison came back to win the next three by scores of 25-18, 25-16 and 25-15.  Following tonight's action, CUA is 24-8 on the year, while Gallaudet ups its record to 27-6.

Senior Claudia Jean led CUA with 18 kills and 16 digs, while Bridget Kulesh totaled eight kills and Katie Chefalas added four.

Kristina Purcell was the team leader in digs with 31, and she was joined in double figures by Chefalas (20) and Mariana Cruz (17).  Cruz also handed out 28 assists on the night.

Kelly Crimmins led the squad in blocks with three, while Audrey Bizak totaled two.

Gallaudet received a match-high 19 kills from Kali Frowick, while Ann Whited led the way with 27 digs.

Sarah Tubert was the leader with 53 assists, and three different Bison finished with two blocks each.

CUA heads to Mary Washington for its next match, which will take place on Thursday, beginning at 7 p.m.
