CUA downs Hood 3-1 for 11th straight win

FREDERICK, Md. – The win streak is now 11 after CUA (20-5) downed Hood 3-1 on the road Thursday evening.  The Cardinals won the first set 25-14, before falling 25-23 in set number-two.  CUA rallied back to win the next two sets rather handily, 25-9 and 25-5.

Claudia Jean continued her strong play with 16 kills and 23 digs, while Bridget Kulesh also finished with double-digit kills (10).  Audrey Bizak added nine kills and Kelly Crimmins and Tess O'Leary notched eight each.

Kristina Purcell totaled 19 digs for the Cardinals, while Mariana Cruz finished with 32 assists and eight digs.

Brittany Lethbridge totaled 10 kills for Hood, while Amy Hagerdon was the team leader in digs with 16.

CUA heads to Bethlehem, Pa. this weekend for the second Landmark Conference weekend where the Cardinals will face Merchant Marine Academy (3:30) and Juniata (6:00) on Saturday and Moravian on Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
