Jean rides strong weekend performance to Player of the Week honors
WASHINGTON – Claudia Jean has been named the Landmark
Conference Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.
Jean helped lead the Cardinals to a perfect 3-0 weekend in the
first go-round of Landmark Conference action, defeating Scranton,
Susquehanna and Goucher.
Jean totaled 47 kills and 78 digs in the three matches,
registering a double-double each time out. She began her
weekend with 15 kills and 19 digs vs. Scranton, before totaling 21
kills and 38 digs in a 3-1 win over Susquehanna.
On Sunday, Jean closed out her weekend with 11 kills and 21 digs
as CUA defeated Goucher 3-0 to move into a first place tie in the
conference with Juniata.
Jean finished the weekend averaging nearly five kills and eight
digs per set, while hitting at .242 percent.
Jean and the rest of the Cardinals are back in action on Friday
evening when they play host to Gwynedd-Mercy. Start time is
set for 7 p.m. and there will be live video shown on
