CUA Volleyball Splits Saturday Landmark Action
WASHINGTON – During Landmark Weekend #2, the Cardinals opened the day with a 3-1 loss to Susquehanna and concluded the day with a 3-0 win over Moravian on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the DuFour Center.
In the four set 25-11, 22-25, 25-23, 25-20 loss, Bridget Kulesh and Mary Paige Nesfeder finished the contest with nine kills apiece. Mariana Cruz distributed 23 assists. Four Cards finished with double-figure digging efforts: Nesfeder (17), Michelle Bouchard (16), Cruz (11) and Kalen Backe (10). Kulesh and Audrey Bizak tallied two solo blocks.
Match two of the day consisted of a 25-15, 25-19, 25-15 victory over Moravian. Nesfeder led the Cardinals with 12 kills, as Cruz circulated 31 assists and dropped a pair of service aces in Moravian territory. Bochard amassed 21 digs and Backe added to the team's total 62 digs with 13. Bizak and Kathryn Herrington finished with four solo blocks apiece.
CUA is now 15-13 on the season and 3-2 in Landmark competition.
The Cardinals return to the DuFour Center on Wednesday, Oct. 23 to host Gallaudet at 7 p.m.
