Kulesh Named Landmark Conference Volleyball Senior Scholar Athlete
WASHINGTON - Senior Bridget Kulesh (Gaithersburg, Md./Gaithersburg) was selected as the Landmark Conference Volleyball Senior Scholar Athlete. The Senior Scholar Athlete recognizes the top student-athlete in each sport based on academics and athletics. The honorees must have a cumulative grade point average over 3.2.
Kulesh helped the Cardinals to a four-year record of 95-48 including a 16-7 mark in the Landmark Conference. Her squad made four-straight semi-final appearances, and reached the Landmark Championship game in 2012.
The 6-2 right side/middle hitter appeared in 131 matches during her four-year career, including all 75 matches as a junior and senior.
Kulesh earned her first ever All-Landmark honor this year, earning Second Team recognition for her performance tallying 184 kills, 34 assists, 105 digs, and 69 blocks. During her four years, the Gaithersburg, Md., native recorded 871 blocks, 403 digs, 213 blocks, 120 assists, and 15 service aces.
Outside of the volleyball court, Kulesh boasts a 3.89 grade point average while majoring in biology. She is also a three-time Landmark Honor Roll selection and Dean's list honoree. In addition to playing volleyball, Kulesh is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. She also serves as a teaching assistant for a biology course at Catholic.
