Catholic Volleyball Sweeps Final Day of Action

WASHINGTON – The Catholic University women's volleyball team advanced to 4-0 on the season on a three-set win over Eastern Mennonite (25-18, 25-26, 25-19) and a four-set victory over Hood (25-13, 25-18, 25-20, 25-14) to conclude the Eastern Mennonite University Invitational.

Mary Paige Nesfeder led the offensive with her second consecutive double-digit kill performance with 22 kills over all and a day high 13 kills against Hood, as well as five service aces. CUA newcomer Maria Cristina Juelle finished above .500 with 19 kills on 31 attempts with three errors.  Michelle Seals circulated 54 assists at the end of the two matches.  Five Cardinals registered double-figure dig numbers, led by Michelle Bouchard with 58 digs.
The Cardinals return to DuFour Athletic Center to host the annual Guetle CUA Invitational featuring New Jersey City, Randolph, Marywood and Cabrini on Saturday, September 6 and Sunday, September 7.
