Volleyball garners first Top 20 ranking
The Catholic University women's volleyball team is ranked 20th in the nation in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Top 20 poll. It is the Cardinals' first national ranking in the program's history.
CUA (31-4), which has won a school-record 17 consecutive matches, is also ranked second in the Mid-Atlantic Region for its highest regional ranking. The team has captured three tournaments this season: the Washington and Lee Invitational on Sept. 9, the Gallaudet Invitational on Oct. 7 and the CUA Invitational on Oct. 14.
The Cardinals concluded the Capital Athletic Conference regular season with a 7-0 record following their 3-0 victory over St. Mary's (Md.) on Tuesday. CUA has gained home-court advantage throughout the CAC Tournament, with the first game Tuesday at 7 p.m.
