Aspinwall, Wall, honored by conference
WASHINGTON - Sophomore Jenny Aspinwall (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week. This is the second time Aspinwall has won the weekly honor.
Aspinwall led Catholic to a 2-1 record this week. After falling to conference foe St. Mary's, the Cardinals rebounded by winning the Outer Banks Shootout hosted by Chowan College. In the first game vs. Ursinus, the sophomore had a natural hat trick in the 3-2 win. In the 2-0 win over the tournament host Chowan, Aspinwall netted a goal.
On the season, Aspinwall has 12 goals and two assists. She has four multi-goal games on the year including two hat tricks.
Junior Anji Wall (Daphne, Ala./McGill Toolen) was named to the Capital Athletic Conference Honorable Mention List for volleyball.
Wall led the Cardinals to the CUA Invitational title over the weekend. This was the fourth year in a row Catholic has won its own tournament. Wall was named to the all-tournament team as she totaled 40 kills, 29 digs, and two blocks in three games.
