Cardinals Fall to #12 Emory
Dachelet has 17 kills for the afternoon
WASHINGTON - Catholic University volleyball (13-14) played the #12 Emory Eagles (14-7) closely Monday afternoon at the DuFour Center. Despite three tight games, the Cardinals eventually lost 3-0. Senior Whitney Dachelet (Aniston, Ala./Donoho) had a team-high 17 kills for the match which is one less than her season high of 18 that came against Messiah at the CUA Guetle Invitational.
In the fist game, the Cards lost 30-24 despite Dachelet's effort. The senior captain had seven kills while Kathryn Fischer (St. Paul, Minn/Cretin-Derham Hall) added three.
In the second game Dachelet notched six kills to lead the squad despite a close 30-26 loss. In the third she had four kills in eight attacks. The Cardinals dropped the final game 30-21.
At setter, Emily McGlynn (Tallahassee, Fla./Leon) had 30 assists in the match. Bethi Pritchard's (New Orleans, La./Ben Franklin) 13 digs was a team-high for the sophomore defensive specialist.
The Cardinals will host conference opponent Mary Washington this Wednesday at the DuFour Center beginning at 7:00 p.m.
