Nassib accumulates 22 kills for the match
ARLINGTON, Va. - Catholic University women's volleyball team (17-11) defeated the Marymount Saints 3-0 Tuesday evening in Arlington. Carey Anne Nassib (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) had a big match for the Cardinals notching 22 kills and leading them to the victory.
The Cards beat Marymount 30-20 in the first game to go up 1-0 on the Saints. Nassib had four kills in the game while Kilah Fox (Philadelphia, Pa./Merion Mercy) added two. The second game was not quite as simple as Marymount stayed in it forcing the score to 33-31 before a winner was declared. Nassib took the game into her own hands with 11 kills while Mary Kate Gardner (San Francisco, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep) had four.
In the final game, CUA dominated 30-19 closing out the match quickly. Nassib had seven kills in the game and Gardner added five.
Emily McGlynn (Tallahassee, Fla./Leon) tallied 34 assists for the match along with a pair of aces. Nassib had 29 digs in the back row and libero Cathleen Carroll (Ann Arbor, Mich./A.A. Pioneer) added 16.
The Cardinals will travel to Susquehanna University this weekend for a two-day tournament featuring Richard Stockton, York, Rowan and the host Crusaders. CUA's first game is Friday evening at 6:00 p.m., versus Rowan.
