Volleyball Drops Washington College, 3-1


WASHINGTON-- CUA women's volleyball dropped Washington College on Tuesday evening, 3-1 after finishing with 52 kills.

Led by Claudia Jean, who finished with 14 kills on 30 attempts, the CUA women's volleyball team moved to 7-2 and is now only one win away from its 2008 season total.  Kim Ray added 12 kills for the Cardinals while Michaela Carroll added 45 assists and Kaitlin Rowan added 23 digs.

Washington College fell behind to CUA 0-2 in the first two sets, but took the third by a score of 25-22.  The Cardinals rallied in the fourth set to defeat the Shorewomen, 25-18.

CUA made only 24 attack errors in the contest and blocked seven Washington College attacks.

The Cardinals will return to action tonight as CUA will travel across the Red Line to the University of the District of Columbia to face the Firebirds at 7 p.m.
