WASHINGTON- The Catholic University volleyball team earned a commanding 3-0 victory over the University of the District of Columbia Thursday afternoon. The squad earned 36 kills and 27 defensive digs in the victory, shutting out UDC in three sets (25-19, 25-14, 25-20).

Leading the way for the Cards were Katie Chefalas (Hicksville, N.Y./Holy Trinity) and Michaela Carroll (Amityville, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) with seven and five kills, respectively. Katie Norberg (Grasonville, Md./St. Mary's) garnered 19 assists, while teammate Kristina Purcell (Springfield, Pa./Merian Mercy) finished the game with 11 digs.

CUA will return to action this weekend for a home tri-match with Marymount University, Hood College, and Trinity College. Game times are at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m.
