Ball Leads Cardinals to 1st Place Finish

FREDERICK, Md.- Catholic University senior Remy Ball (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) earned second place at the Hood Invitational Saturday afternoon, leading a Cardinal pack that finished first overall. CUA garnered a total of 49 points at the event, with an average time of 25:59.50.

The Cards had three top-ten finishes at the meet, including Ball who finished in 24:43.15. Ashley Surerman (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) earned 8th place with a time of 25:59.02, while teammate Katie Sacker (Catonville, Md./Seaton Keyhough) finished 10th with a time of 26:15.18.

Rounding out the top 20 for Catholic University were Madeline Cronan (Denver, Colo./Bishop Machebeuf) in 13th, Megan Dietzler (Upper Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) in 16th, and Keely Eckberg (Homdel, N.J./Red Bank) in 18th.

The Cards will compete October 31st as they host the Landmark Conference Championship Meet at 11:00 a.m.
