Mayfield earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country honors
WASHINGTON – Sophomore Camelia Mayfield has earned 2011 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic Cross Country status, it was recently announced. Mayfield is one of 183 student-athletes from 96 institutions that compose the group.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater through the most-recent semester and placed in the top-35 at the NCAA Regional Championships.
Mayfield finished 26th at this year's NCAA Regional Championship, crossing in a time of 24:15.7, which earned her a spot on the All-Region Team. Her performance helped lead CUA to a 15th place finish in the team standings.
The Ashland, Ore. native placed third at this year's Landmark Conference Championship, with a time of 24:46.40. She earned First Team All-Conference honors for her performance.
