HAMPDEN, Ga. – CUA placed 7th with 251 points at the NCAA Regional championship on Saturday, which was hosted by Emory University. Rebecca Radcliffe led the Cardinals with a 16th place finish, with a time of 23:26.31 while Keely Eckberg, who finished in 23:36.52, placed 20th and Laura Kinley finished 28th (23:52.02). All three runners earned All-Region honors.
This was Radcliffe's first appearance at the NCAA Regional championship after her impressive late-season ascent to the top which saw her place fifth at the Landmark Conference championship on October 27 and earn All-Conference accolades.
Eckberg improved significantly this season after placing 96th at the NCAA Regionals last year in Sequin, Texas. She also finished in the top-10 at four of the CUA meets this season, including a 7th place finish at the Landmark Conference championship, which earned her a spot on the All-Conference Team.
Trinity (Tex.) won the title with 39 points, followed by Emory (132), Centre (142), and Washington & Lee (151).
Individually, Sophia Stone of Mary Baldwin won the crown for the second time in a row with a time of 22:03.69 and she was followed by Trinity's Vanessa Moreno (22:12.24) and Maddie Murphy (22:25.85).
