Three Cardinals earn academic awards; CUA receives team award
WASHINGTON – Three members of CUA's Landmark Conference champion women's cross country team have earned 2012 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic Cross Country status, it was recently announced. Keely Eckberg, Laura Kinley, and Rebecca Radcliffe were three of 201 student-athletes from across the country to receive the honor.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or greater through the most-recent semester and placed in the top-35 at the NCAA Regional championship.
Radcliffe was CUA's top finisher at the regionals, crossing in 16th place, while Eckberg was 20th and Kinley 28th. All three earned All-Region accolades and helped to lead the Cards to a 7th place finish.
At the Landmark Conference championship, Radcliffe and Eckberg were both named First Team All-Conference selections, finishing fifth and seventh, respectively, while Kinley was named to the Second Team after placing 8th.

In addition to CUA's individual, honors, the entire Cardinals team was one of 197 across the nation to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Status. To qualify, the team must have had a cumulative GPA of 3.1 or better.
CUA earned a 3.3 GPA.
