CUA performs well at Juniata Invite, finishes second
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – CUA had an impressive performance at the
Juniata Invitational on Saturday, finishing second in the
seven-team field. The Cardinals totaled 64 points to place
second behind Juniata, which finished with 55 points. Keely
Eckberg (5) and Laura Kinley (9) both finished in the top-10 for
CUA.
Eckberg’s time of 24:11.30 was fifth best among all runners,
while Kinley placed 9th with a time of 25:08.50.
Other CUA runners who placed in the top-50 included Cristine
Butrico, who came in 14th place, crossing in 25:42.40, Rebecca
Radcliffe, who crossed in 20th (26:19.80), Erin Schlegel, who
placed 22nd (26:30.30), Kristen Rayfield, who finished 27th
(26:54.70), Corine Dolan in 28th (26:57.90), Sara Lally in 36th
(27:44.70) and Katherine McQuinn in 48th (29:41.90).
Drew’s Jennifer Van Wingerden placed first individually with
a time of 22:52.60, while Goucher’s Katherine Currier took
second in 22:56.30.
Following Juniata and CUA in the team standings were Moravian with
70 points, Susquehanna with 75, Goucher with 87, Pitt-Johnston
(154) and Keystone (191).
CUA heads to Bethlehem, Pa. for its next race, when the Cardinals
compete at the Paul Short Invitational on September 28. Start
time is set for 2:30 p.m.
