2012 Landmark Conference preseason poll announced

WASHINGTON – The Landmark Conference announced its 2012 women’s cross country preseason poll on Wednesday and CUA checked in at No. 6 with 25 points.  The Cardinals placed third at last season’s conference championship and produced a pair of All-Conference selections.

Head Coach Joe Fisher returns a number of seasoned runners to lead the way in 2012.  Seniors Keely Eckberg, Laura Kinley, and Christine Kolberg join juniors Katherine McQuinn, Rebecca Radcliffe and Kristen Rayfield at the top of the Cards’ lineup, with a number of sophomores and freshmen expected to contribute as well.

Defending conference champion Moravian topped the poll with 49 points, just two points ahead of second place Juniata.  Goucher and Susquehanna, with 39 points each, tied for third, followed by Scranton (35), CUA (25), USMMA (13) and Drew (9).

CUA opens its 2012 season on Saturday, September 8 when the Cardinals travel to compete at the Washington & Lee Invitational.  Start time is set for 10 a.m.
