2012 Landmark Conference preseason poll announced
WASHINGTON – The Landmark Conference announced its 2012
women’s cross country preseason poll on Wednesday and CUA
checked in at No. 6 with 25 points. The Cardinals placed
third at last season’s conference championship and produced a
pair of All-Conference selections.
Head Coach Joe Fisher returns a number of seasoned runners to lead
the way in 2012. Seniors Keely Eckberg, Laura Kinley, and
Christine Kolberg join juniors Katherine McQuinn, Rebecca Radcliffe
and Kristen Rayfield at the top of the Cards’ lineup, with a
number of sophomores and freshmen expected to contribute as
well.
Defending conference champion Moravian topped the poll with 49
points, just two points ahead of second place Juniata.
Goucher and Susquehanna, with 39 points each, tied for third,
followed by Scranton (35), CUA (25), USMMA (13) and Drew (9).
CUA opens its 2012 season on Saturday, September 8 when the
Cardinals travel to compete at the Washington & Lee
Invitational. Start time is set for 10 a.m.
