Cardinals place third at Wilmington Invite; Eckberg takes 7th
WILMINGTON, Del. – CUA finished third at the season opening Wilmington University Invite on Saturday. The Cardinals totaled 72 points on the afternoon, with Nyack leading the way with 47 points and Georgian Court taking second with 59. Keely Eckberg was CUA's top finisher in 7th place.
Eckberg's time of 21:48.25 was tops among all Cardinals and seventh best in the field. Wilmington claimed the first two spots with Althea Davidson crossing first in a time of 20:53.94 and Jeanette Halliburton placing second (20:55.93).
Other Cardinals who placed in the top-50 included Rebecca Radcliffe in 11th (22:30.79), Grace Lally in 16th (23:06.73), Laura Kinley in 18th (23:13.63), Masie Carr in 23rd (23:41.48), Corine Dolan in 29th (23:54.37), Jane Marrinan in 31st (24:32.97), and Grace Lally in 46th (25:54.35).
Rounding out the team standings behind Nyack, Georgian Court and CUA were Wilmington (100), University of Sciences (150), Widener (159), Bloomfield (180), Lincoln (192), Caldwell (231), Howard Community College (273), and Cumberland Community College (345).
CUA is back in action on Saturday, September 15 when the Cardinals compete at the Juniata Invitational. Start time is set for 10 a.m.
