WASHINGTON - Caterine Kitz was named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honor roll as the lone representative for the Cardinals.
In addition to Kitz's award, the 2013 team was named an USTFCCCA Scholar Team.
Kitz was one of 308 females named All-Academic. Honorees must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.30 or greater and must have finished among the top 25 percent of finishers at their respective regional championships. The freshman is also just one of four student-athletes from the Landmark Conference to be named All-Academic.
In the Landmark Conference Championship, Kitz was Catholic's fastest finisher. She ran a 25:28 time in the 5k race, placing 14th.
To be named a Scholar Team, programs must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.10 or greater and competed in at least five different meets with at least five runners representing their school at each. The Cardinals compiled a 3.36 team GPA and were one of four Landmark teams to be recognized as a Scholar Team.
