Lyons Leads Catholic to Second at Harrior Invite

WASHINGTON — The Catholic University of America women's earned a second-place finish at Shenandoah's Hornet Harrior Invitational as senior Kiera Lyons also earned second overall in the 5k race.

Lyons averaged a 6:26.2 mile and crossed the finish line with a time of 20:01.0.

Just behind was impressive rookie Tara Thornton who finished sixth at 20:29.9.

Catholic also got to top-25 performances from sophomore Alex Filiault and freshman Shannon Griffin. They finished 20th and 25th with a time of 21:16.9 and 21:35.5, respectively.

The Cardinals now ready for the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Preview meet on Saturday, October 7, hosted by Christopher Newport.
