Bhalla and Flanagan Earn All-CAC
Honors
Senior Nicky Bhalla (Arlington, Va./Bishop O'Connell
High) earned first-team All-Capital Athletic Conference
women's cross country honors for her performance in the CAC
championships Saturday at Winter Place Park in Salisbury, Md.
Junior Donna Flanagan (Plainville, Mass./Bishop
Feehan) garnered second-team honors.
Bhalla covered the 5,000-meter course in 19 minutes, 36 seconds to finish fourth overall. It was the seventh time in eight meets that she has been the Cardinals' top performer in 2000. Flanagan placed 12th in 20:10.

Bhalla earns conference honors
Nicky Bhalla (Arlington, Va./Bishop O'Connell) has been
named Capital Athletic Conference women's cross country athlete of
the week for her performance Saturday.
Bhalla paced Catholic University's victory in the Mississippi College Invitational in Clinton, Miss., by finishing seventh in a time of 20 minutes, 11.1 seconds over 5,000 meters. It was the fifth time in six meets that the senior English major has been the Cardinals' top performer in 2000.
CUA won the eight-team meet with 52 points, four better than host Mississippi College. Division I schools Grambling State and Xavier finished third and seventh, respectively. The Cardinals, 4-0 in dual competition, have won three meets this season.
Bhalla was also honored as CAC women's cross country athlete of the week in 1998.

Women Sweep Home Meet
Senior Nicky Bhalla (Arlington Va./Bishop
O'Connell) ran the 5,000-meter course in 20 minutes, 30
seconds to finish first in Catholic's only home meet of the 2000
cross country season. She helped lead Catholic to a 2-0 record
against Bowie State and UDC.
