Yates earns first place finish Sept 27, 2003

YORK, PA. - Sophomore Rachel Yates (Wilton, Maine/Mount Blue) finished in first place for the second time in as many weeks as the women's cross county team participated in a tri-meet with York and Johns Hopkins.

Yates' time of 19:57.67 over the 5K course was almost a minute ahead of the next runner.

Freshman Noel Burns (Cole Spring, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) earned a top 10 finish, placing 8th.

The team returns to action this weekend as they will take part in the George Washington Invitational in Fairfax, Va.
