Women Go 2-1 At Quad Meet
Jenna Hackett places seventh overall

GRANTHAM, Va. - The CUA women's cross country team went 2-1 at the Messiah College quad meet on Saturday in Grantham, Pa.  The team ran against some of the top squads in the region and in the country, but was able to place three runners in the top 20.

Jenna Hackett (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins) was the top finisher for the Cards placing seventh with a 20:41.  Also in the top 20 were Tara Wilson (Shelter Island Heights, N.Y./Shelter Island) with a 21:12 at 15th and Sam McClellan (Union Town, Ohio/Saint Thomas) at 20th running a 21:17.

Other notable performances included Teresa Mascia (24th, 21:33), Angela Montonio (32nd, 22:08) and Bridgette Smith (33rd, 22:10).

The Cards beat Juniata 26-29 but fell to both Messiah (46-16) and Gettysburg (43-18).

The team will be off next weekend before returning for the Nevins Invitational on October 21.
