Women Place Seventh at NCAA Regionals
Shashaty and Hackett earn All-Region

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Catholic University took seventh place at NCAA Regionals Saturday morning in Atlanta, Ga.  The team narrowly missed out on a berth to the NCAA Chmpionship meet.  Mary Shashaty (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) and Jenna Hackett (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins) both finished in the top 30 and were named to the All-Region squad.

Shashaty and Hackett came in together as the top CUA performers finishing 29th and 30th respectively with times of 24:43.1 and 24:59.1.  Freshman Tara Wilson (Shelter Island Heights, N.Y./Shelter Island) finished soon after running a 25:16.0 for 37th place.

Remy Ball (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) was 47th with a time of 25:51.1 and Teresa Mascia (Stirling, N.J./Watchung Hills) placed 55th in a time of 26:05.2.

The meet was the last for the season, but the Cards ended on a high note and are looking at a bright future with just two graduating seniors.
