Women's Cross Country Team Place 4th at Landmark Conference Championships

ALTOONA, PA-- The women's cross country team finished out their regular season schedule today at the 2008 Landmark Conference Championships held at the Fort Roberdeau Historic Site. The Cardinals took home fourth place with 79 points. Susquehanna University finished first with 40 points.
The top seven finishers at the championships earned All-Conference Honors. Senior Jenna Hackett's (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins) time of 24:13 gave her a third place finish and this prestigious distinction. This is her second straight year earning first team Landmark All-Conference Honors.
Freshman Katherine Sacker (Catonville, Md./Seton Keough) also had a strong outing this morning. She finished 16th with a time of 25:16. Sophomore Madeline Cronan (Denver, Colo./Bishop Machebeuf), junior Mary Shashaty (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood), and junior Remy Ball (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) took home the 19th, 20th, and 21st place finishes, respectively.
The Cardinals now have two weeks to prepare for the NCAA South/Southeast Regionals on Nov. 15. The team will travel to Seguin, TX to race at the Texas Lutheran Cross Country Course. Strong performances at the NCAA Regionals can earn athletes or teams a trip to the NCAA Division III Championships
