Cross Country Team Wins the 2008 Green Terror Cross Country Challenge

Women's Cross Country Wins 2008 Green Terror Challenge


Westminster, Ma- The Catholic University women's cross country team took the top spot out of seven competing teams at the Green Terror Invitational on Saturday morning. The team finished with only 24 team points. This was enough to beat the host team, McDaniel College, by nine.

In a repeat from last weekends' performance, freshman Katherine Sacker (Catonville, Md.) took the top spot for Catholic finishing with a time of 21:14.45. This performance earned her the third overall finish at the meet. Coming in fourth overall at the meet with a time of 21:25.85 was senior captain Jenna Hackett (Fort Collins, Colo.). Also in the top ten with a time of 21:43 was senior captain Mary Shashaty (Scotch Plains, N.J.). Rounding out the top ten overall finishers was freshman Christine McGowan. Her time was 22:18.

Also finishing in the top twenty for the Cardinals were junior Remy Ball (22:24), sophomore Madeline Cronan (23:19), and freshman Allison Dippolito (23:49).

On the men's side, Paul Santuoso was top male finisher for second week in a row, finishing 6th with a time of 17:38.08. The men's squad came in third out of ten teams at the meet.

The Cardinals return to action next Saturday morning in New York at the New York University Invitational.
