Cross Country Teams Place at Washington and Lee Invitational
LEXINGTON, Va. - The Catholic University women's cross country team finished second out of ten teams overall at the W&L Invitational held at the Dick Miller Cross Country Courses on Saturday morning. Additionally, the men's team finished sixth out of 11 teams.
Freshman Katherine Sacker (Catonville, Md) paced the women by finishing sixth overall with a time of 25:14. Fourth-year runner Jenna Hackett placed 8th for the Cards with a time of 25:32. Christine McGowan (Maple Glen, Pa) finished 12th and had a time of 26:03. Rounding out the top 20 for Catholic University was Remy Ball (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) with a time of 26:35. Ball placed 18th overall.
The CUA men had just two runners place in the top 20. Paul Santuoso (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit) finished 10th in the race with a time of 30:21. Teammate Andrew Smith (Arlington, Tenn./Bolton) placed 18th overall with a time of 30:56.
Both teams will return to action on Saturday, September 13th as they participate in the McDaniel Invitational.
