Women's Cross Country Takes First Ever CUA Invitational

WASHINGTON--Running its first home cross country meet in recent memory, the CUA women's cross country team finished in first place, six points ahead of second place Juniata.

Led by Madeline Cronan and Katie Sacker, the Cardinals took third and fourth place as well as sixth, tenth, and thirteenth to score only 36 team points and drop conference rival Juniata.  Cronan's time of 26:18.51 trailed Juniata's Laura Rupprecht, who took first place, by less than one minute. Megan McQuillan of Juniata and Hadley Couraud of Goucher rounded out the top five.

CUA, which will host the Landmark Conference Championship on Oct. 31, hosted its first cross country meet in more than 10 years today on the grounds of the US Armed Forces Retirement Home campus.

The Cardinals will return to action next Saturday, Oct. 10 at Laurel, Md.
