Landmark Conference announces women's cross country poll
WASHINGTON - The Catholic University women’s cross country
team was selected fourth in the Landmark Conference preseason poll,
it was announced on Monday. The Cardinals received 61 points in the
poll, which is voted on by the head coaches and sports information
directors of the seven institutions in the Landmark Conference.
The Cardinals finished the 2009 season with a fourth place finish
at the Landmark Conference championships held at Catholic
University. Head coach Joe Fisher brings back a strong team
in 2010 that includes four runners that placed in the top-24 last
season, led by senior captain Madeline Cronan who placed 15th.
Susquehanna was selected first by the coaches (96 points) followed
by Scranton (84) and Juniata (68).
The CUA women’s cross country season begins on Saturday,
September 4th at the 10 Miler in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Action gets underway at 8:00 AM.
