Cardinals take time to give back at Armed Forces Home
WASHINGTON – The CUA field hockey team recently took time
out of its busy schedule to visit the Armed Forces Retirement Home
in Washington, D.C. This marked the fifth year that the
Cardinals have volunteered at the home, as the 2010 ECAC Champions
got a chance to decorate for the holidays and visit with the
residents.
On Friday, December 10, the Cardinals added holiday spirit
throughout the retirement home, decorating a Christmas tree on each
floor of the main residence, as well as adding decorations in the
lobby, bowling alley and gym.
The team also spent time and interacted with several of the
residents who are at the home. Every year the Cardinals have
visited the home their trip has been unique, and this time proved
to be no different.
No matter what’s in store, the team enjoys taking time to
give back, particularly during the holiday season.

CUA won a school-record 17 games in 2010, on its way to winning
the program’s first-ever ECAC Championship.
